Caswell is one of the new generation of directors.
Able to work across various mediums be it TVC, promo, digital and documentary, with an ability to creative and technically problem solve within challenging boundaries at a multitude of budget levels. His commercial films for XBOX and iconic surf brand, O’Neill, expertly showcase across all these levels.

With a highly successful music promo career working with The Feeling, Boy Kill Boy, Estelle, Keane and Lily Allen behind him, Caswell is now bringing his love of narrative, visual storylines, his consciously emotive style of filmmaking and his skill at creative technical production solutions to the commercials industry.

Caswell’s passion for filmmaking started from an early age. His initial apprenticeship on the production team of several BBC documentaries took him to Ethiopia, the Czech Republic and Dubai laying the foundation for his subsequent career as a director. Learning his craft by working his way up from runner to director led to his first experiences of directing promos through Patricia Murphy Films, before joining Battle Cruiser.

Caswell’s documentary skills and working with real people have been recently demonstrated with a brand film for O’Neill. Jaw dropping action shots, beautifully engaging landscape and an insight into the surfing spirit the film follows a group of passionate surfers.
Working closely with celebrated actor, Idris Elba, Caswell’s promo for Season 2 ‘Luther’ is a stunning choreographed symphony getting to the heart of the character.
Continuing his love of documentary; personal project DESTINO follows the effect of contemporary dance on the lives of troubled kids and it’s subsequent performance at Sadler’s Wells. The film has received rave reviews from the Arts world and is in the process of being commissioned for TV.
