Lee SHULMAN
Lee SHULMAN
At just 37years of age, Lee has been working in the film industry for over 10 years. He first worked as a production assistant for RSA, on various commercials and music videos, such as the “Marlboro” campaign directed by Tony Scott and INXS “Baby don’t cry” music video.
In 1998 he graduated from the University of Westminster with a BA Hons in Film Video and Photographic Arts. He also worked as a trainee editor alongside Ridley Scott’s Oscar winning editor editor Pietro Scalia.
Lee then went on to shoot his first test spot for Umbro. A short comic tale of a man magically transformed into soccer stardom by a pea!!! The ad appeared in “Shots” magazine under new talents to watch.
On the strength of this one piece he was signed immediately to Partizan UK, where he went on to direct commercials for a variety of high profile clients, including Sony, Cadbury’s, IBM, Sega, The Telegraph.
Lee also won Sky Movies Short Film competition with his short ‘Bath Time’ in which a man ends up in a nightmarish predicament in his bath….!
Since his début on the French market, Lee has directed a number of commercials, including Ikea, Francesoir, Culturepub.fr, MTV, Subway , Les Petits Frères des Pauves, Surfrider Foundation (winner of a Cristal Award at the 2004 Meribel Advertising festival), France Radio, as well as a variety of intenet ads for clients such as Orangina, Samsung, Mondial Assistance, Sony Playstation. Lee currently lives & works between Paris & London.
He recently shot, wrote and produced his first TV series for Canal+, “Barres de Mires” which follows the bizarre exploits of a Colour Bar signal played by real actors…The TV series has been now syndicated in over 20 countries including, Spain, Italy, Germany, Russia.
He is currently working on a new TV series to be shot this summer.
When not filming, he can often be found wondering in the jungles of Borneo or in the deserts of Mongolia… “ I am very restless… must be the Heinz baked beans!”
